Hey there, Victoria. This is Karen, one of Aunt Dawn's friends... I wanted to let you know that this weekend I took a plane to Boston, Massachusetts from Seattle, Washington where me and 7,000 other people walked 13 miles to help find a cure for cancer. All of us who walked in the half marathon raised money that we donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Center. My team alone raised more than $21,000 to help find a cure for cancers, including childhood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. Your Aunt Dawn and Uncle Tony, Aunt Letha and Uncle Mark donated money in honor of you. And, I met a doctor while walking who was the first person to find a cure for a certain kind of childhood cancer... pretty awesome, huh? We had a great time on the walk, we met a lot of great people and... we didn't get any blisters on our feet! If you send me your address, I would like to send you a few goodies from the walk. Email me at kreise22@hotmail.com if you're feeling up to it and let me know where I can send you some things. Also, last year, instead of walking a marathon I climbed a mountain to help find a cure for cancer. When I was raising money for that I made myself a pledgepage like this one that you have. If you want to look at pictures of my climb of Mount Rainier, check out http://karensclimb.pledgepage.org/ and you'll see more people who are fighting for a cure. Just thought you'd like to know what we are all doing for you and other kids like you. We're thinking of you and fighting for you. Take care of yourself and stay strong, Karen
